Beth Warren, Assistant General Counsel for State Personnel’s Legal Division, has one goal: figure out how to get things done quickly and accurately. “We solve issues for other agencies,” said Beth. “Whether they have an FMLA issue or a person with a disability, we’re here to help navigate how to accomplish agency goals and provide guidance in making tough decisions.” Since September 2024, SPD has been thankful to draw upon Beth’s expertise.
“I’m good at logistics and making a project happen,” said Beth, fueled by her positions across the legal field. After more than 20 years of experience as a paralegal in the fast-paced private sector, Beth decided it was time to go to law school. An opportunity presented itself available at Faulkner University in Montgomery, and she jumped at the chance. She feels rewarded with her State of Alabama attorney role.
“Beth is an extremely driven and hardworking person.” said General Counsel Blake Brookshire. “She has drawn on her extensive experience to quickly acclimate herself to the Merit System and Employment Law, establishing herself as an invaluable member of our team.”
Outside of SPD, Beth is an accomplished community leader. She volunteers as Vice President of Fundraising for the Junior League of Montgomery, an organization advancing women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. “We have three major fundraisers: the College and Career Fair, Holiday Market, and a spring event,” said Beth.
When not working for the good of the community both in government and as a volunteer, Beth can be found at basically any music festival enjoying live music from numerous genres. “Music revives the soul.”
