State Personnel Analyst Chad Krietemeyer exudes professionalism and a strong sense of teamwork in SPD’s Class and Pay Division. While he hasn’t been at SPD as long as many of his peers, he certainly knows how to make a positive impression.
C&P helps ensure that state jobs are clearly defined and compensation remains competitive and consistent across government. Chad works directly with several agencies, including the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Department of Human Resources, the Department of Agriculture and Industries, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, helping review and evaluate positions to ensure they are properly classified and aligned with the state’s job and pay structure. He enjoys partnering with agencies to help them build the workforce they need to serve the people of Alabama. For example, this week he is excited about working on a new job series for ALEA.
Chad’s favorite part of the job is collaborating with coworkers. “We’re a small but mighty team,” said Chad, crediting each member of C&P individually for their support and long-term commitment to progress. “We have a great boss and a great leader. Everybody within our division really cares about one another and helps each other succeed.”
“His enthusiasm is contagious,” said Deputy Director Amanda Mercado. “He brings energy, positivity, and a genuine passion for the work every single day, and it lifts everyone around him.”
Chad has been with SPD for over three years. “I entered as a State Professional Trainee. Amanda took a chance on me, and after 18 months I was promoted to a State Personnel Analyst I.” It was one of the happiest days of my life. In his spare time, Chad likes to fish for largemouth bass, hike, and attend Auburn sports events.
