Personnel Assistant III Keshia Doss’ warm personality and desire to help others energize those around her. She recently celebrated seven years working for the State of Alabama, all with SPD’s Certifications division.
“I just want to help everybody,” said Keshia, who previously ran the front desk for an eye doctor. The experience fuels her empathy for members of the public seeking state employment. She understands the unique situations people face and seeks to improve their lives in whatever way she can.
“We try to get as many people on these registers as we can to get a good state job. I help people understand how to get on a register and how long they’re on. Also, if they’re on the register and they get a notification stating that they’re placed inactive, we help them get placed back active.” She specifically acknowledged the efforts of her coworkers in the Certifications suite, Betty Davis, Sharita Smith, and Carmen Hill.
“Keshia is a true standout member of our team, and her hard work definitely doesn’t go unnoticed,” said Exams & Certifications Manager Julie Carden. “She’s a genuine pleasure to work with as she is approachable, positive, and dependable. She’s consistently helpful and supportive when working with state agencies, whether its handling Form 15 requests, outstanding registers, or appointments. Her contributions play a vital role in keeping the Certification division running smoothly every day.”
Outside of work, Keshia enjoys playing softball, being with friends and family, and her two dogs, a French Bulldog named Rip and a Shih Tzu named Bella Beth.
